I just bought a false perc for my 10 gallon reef tank about 2 days ago. is this normal behavior for a new clown? thing eats super well and is almost like a monster when it comes to feeding time.

swimming around the tank pretty fast, going up and down the glass in the corner, and occasionally swimming into the current. I’m thinking he’s exploring? tends to curiously pick at rocks and stuff.

From all my experience with clownfish, there is nothing 'normal' about them...
Sleeping on wavemakers
Hovering upside down in the current because it seems to feel good
'Making friends' with torches
Trying to mate with shrimp...

Define 'normal'?

you have a point. some people say clowns zooming around a tank means they’re stressed but he appears to be having fun. not to mention he seems to be schooling with my chromis which I found interesting. they follow each other all around the tank. at night he sleeps with his face in the sand. very interesting fish indeed

hi yes sounds like normal behavior to me,will settle in,calm down a bit in a few days, any probs ,come on back!!!

I have 6 that do that and generally little is normal when it comes to clowns. They earn the name CLOWN
