Not a clam Q but scallop Q

I bought an electric flame scallop a few months back and he seems to be doing good. We spot feed him phytoplankton a few times a day. I can't really see him because he wedged up into a wall of a cave. Today I noticed a large bump or growth on him. Any ideas? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. It just seemed like the closest to scallops. Tia

sorry if this is stating something you've ruled out, but might that be its foot?

I also have a flame scallop, and it likes to attach itself to the underside of rocks and peek out. I've noticed if it stays longer in one place, its foot attachment gets noticeably larger over time. If it moves to a new rock underside opening more frequently, I've noticed its attachment foot is smaller.
