Ok so I have had this for about 3 weeks. Last week I took 80% of the sand out and rinsed it clean. I blew off the rocks with a turkey bast and cleaned up the sump. It looked good for about 2 days and it's coming back. I test and everything looks ok. Running 2 carbon reactors and GFO reactor with a UV. Not sure what this is. I am new to the hobby but I went through a diatom bloom and this seems different. I can literally scrap it off the sand easy but breaks apart before I can pull it all out.

Suck it up with a turkey baster and blow it in to a fine fish net near the surface to remove it.

It does look like cyano in most of the spots.
Are you carbon dosing or feeding aminos?

The las pic looks like gha.

It doesn't look red. Cyano....ok I'll have to do some research on it. It's not going away, yes I am carbon dosing....vodka that is

I had same thing... got rid of it with Dino x but it also bleached some of my coral

I'm referring to the picture of the egg crate with the frags... the last pic looks like something different

Well I have no clue what it is. I do know that is growing in the sump where my grow light hits. I just transferred my corals to a QT and going lights out for a bit. I'll give it till the weekend and we will see. Not sure if I should raise the temp or dose anything. This is a freaking pain! It's seem the only thing I have done so far in this hobby try and save corals and fish. It's not fun so far, frustrated
