Hi

I harvest chaeto from my refugium today. I use to put the chaeto in a bucket and afterwards pick up all small animals and feed my DT. Today O saw something with too many arms but put it as food in the DT. I saw that my fish spit it out - there was many trying to eat it - app 2-3 mm large.

This evening I get surprised because this critter has attached itself to the front window.

Does anyone have any clue what it is? It does not seems like it move but why attach on the wndow?

The biologist first letter to his name is S, S like in Sallstrom.

Might be the same I've seen at work. I've seen about five of them, attached on the window two times, two times they've landed on a coral colony. It's like they float with the water and attach to new substrate.
But they haven't spread like Aiptasia anemones so far. Actually haven't seen one for long now. Maybe our Filefish or butterflyfish eats them.

So if you got the anemone from work, hitchhiked on some coral or algae, I don't think you need to worry. At least ours didn't spread fast, so you'll have some time to find a solution:)

Don't know the species. Back at work tomorrow, I'll look for them, see if we got them.

I do not know where it comes from because it looks like it was in my Chaeto when I harvest that today. It is true that it was floating around in the water when I to feed my fish with it. I was thinking of aptasia but it does not fit - never seen any aptasia floating around.

That's an anemone with it's foot on the glass. Not sure what kind; can you get a pic of the other side

No I can´t - I need to put my camera in the water in order to do that.

I hope it will stay at that place it is know - it is easy to study.

Juvenile condylactus nem?

Could be something like that because it does not have any neck what it looks like.

@Jomama It is no joke - I haven´t a clue of what it is

Yes - the name are from Scandinavian fishermen and it is a sea monster that looks like a giant squid or octopus
