Not A Critter, But What Is It?

So, I have no idea what this is, where it came from, or if it is friend or foe. I do think it is some plant or algae but no idea what.

Some people think it's some type of coral, but I'm pretty sure it's plant not animal.

That said, where could it have come from? I started the tank with "life rock" (not Live rock) and most of what has gone into the tank has been either frags or very small rubble rock. Nothing of any substance.

Sea Squirt was my 1st thought as well. Not for sure, but my gut reaction

Well, it doesn't do anything if I poke at it with a feeding tube... I'm fairly sure it's plant - not animal.

It is red bubble algea. Do a search online for photos.
