I was sold this as a Molly miller but doesn’t look like one to me. Any ideas? Large mouth and about 5-6”

That is a Goby species however I can’t tell which one. Can you get a clearer photo?

I’ll try. It is in a qt holding tank so I can’t get pictures through the side. Will snap one when a good opportunity pops up.

It has the mouth of a bass. I was holding a piece of scallop at the surface about 1” wide and he shot up and sucked it down in a single gulp. Was trying to feed it to a different fish.

That is a Frillfin Goby,Brachygobius soprator. I once brought a tiny one inch specimen back from Florida. When it got to about four inches, it ate every small fish in the tank. It got relocated to another tank and broke the jaw of an eel fighting over food. BEWARE!

Apparently they're a very common research species because they're very good at mapping coastline to not die during low tide! What an interesting little murderfish

I caught mine in about three inches of water and brought it back to NJ in an old soda bottle.

I really like your updates and I’m sorry please don’t be offended but it’s the most unattractive fish I’ve seen in the hobby lol

I don’t know what to do with this thing. I feel like I can’t put it in any tank because it’s going to end up being a shrimp eater, small fish eater, coral eater, or something else I’m not thinking of. Then I won’t be able to catch it.
