I have had this piece for almost 2 months. It is really starting to color up now.

Good looking acro! But who said anything about wild aussie corals "stinking"? I love aussie corals.

Don't get me wrong! I love Aussi corals. Really meant that a lot of the wild caught pieces lose most of their color. They do not always turn into gems!

Aussie stuff is and has always been my favorite...when buying wild acro colony's they will most of the time brown out while adjusting to our tanks...It can be tricky acclimating anything from the wild but if you understand how they will usually color back up...some faster then others...but isn't that the fun part of the hobby...turning something brown to a gem and being able to spot a diamond in the rough...looks like you found a really nice one.

aussie acros always color up nice, it's the indo ones that are questionable at times

btw nice piece

I've been meaning to buy a couple browned out wild colony's and try to get them to color up. It's tough because my LFS's don't get much wild SPS in. It's a good and bad thing.

Personally, I have managed to maintain all my aussie wild sps colonies' colours and have growth with the exception of a.sphatulatha. But that's my fault as the spaths I had weren't in prime real estate and they are a very demanding species.

I've yet to see any wild acro that doesn't look amazing once it gets used to captive conditions. I've had a brown millie turn into a red and orange one!

Aussie acros hold there color better then pretty much all other acros.

Fiji wild is the hardest to color back up Indos are not to bad but aussis stuffis usually pretty hardy and holds color well
