Not eating Powder Blue Tang

Man this thread is giving me stress. So sorry OP. Beautiful PBT hope you guys can figure this out fast.

Is this clown freshly dead? the gills filaments are really pale. that happens a few hours after death, but if the fish is freshly dead, it is a sign of anemia. the clown also is bloated, has it been like that for long?

Jay
He died between 1 AM and 7AM, the picture was taken straight away. He was gulping with his mouth, not a good swimmer so it was not in the current.
He was a very large Clarki, well fed.

Yeah she looks big. So sorry man.

My friend is coming over and brining his QT system with him. Scoop , net, plop. PBT hate and are terrified of nets. Hopefully this goes well. Fingers crossed.

most fish hate and are terrified of nets. Sometimes you have to use nets. I just keep tiny scissors near me when netting fish so I can cut net links if it gets stuck on fish.

Yeah, I think that is why PBT do so badly when you first get them, but the secret for success was food, I thought it was the garlic, maybe that helped but feed him like crazy and he got past the street moment.
My friend came over with his QT setup, we netted him and he was stressed for about an hour, this morning he is fine and gliding in the current

I hope he can pull through. Glad to hear things are looking well today. Figure out what could be causing the Anemia? Would not hurt to also get Humble's opinion as to what it could be.

I do not know what caused it, maybe it was a temporary spike of Ammonia after cleaning some of the sand bed, but not sure. Without the ability to coast in the current I believe he would not have made it like the poor Clarki. He can only be stuck in the middle for so long so I am hoping things will get better and he starts to want to eat again.

So it has been over 3 weeks and the PBT has not eaten, he is in a hospital tank, and he finally ate tonight:face-with-tears-of-joy::face-with-tears-of-joy::face-with-tears-of-joy::face-with-tears-of-joy::face-with-tears-of-joy:
Thanks again everyone, I will take the feeding slowly, I do not want to over do his system.
