NOT ENOUGH SPACE TO PREFORM MAINTENANCE ON TANK!??

Hey Guys, I bought a synergy reef system custom sump that was made to fit the reefmat 500. I also made a custom stand with some 2x4’s. Now having both in hand im coming to the realization that i won’t have enough space to pull out the reefmat nor skimmer to do maintenance or change the fleece roll. My father who helped me build the stand suggest we change the 2x4’s that are on their side to 2x10’s and that will add and additional 6 inches. that leaves me with 18 and 1/4 inches of space from top of sump to top of stand. that is enough for me to pull out my skimmer and mat right!? how much space do you have from top of sump to top of stand?

Lengthen the legs. Adding 2x10 nets total height but not usable space for access. Your legs are still the ceiling, doesn’t matter if you add height inside if you cannot access it.

Just measured my space between top of sump and bottom of tank. 12” !!! It’s definitely enough for me to get my skimmer cup out. But I don’t have a roller mat. I’m amazed that manufacturers don’t take these things into consideration. Good luck.
