I actually have two questions.

1. My toddler defrosted my freezer, which held my mysis shrimp.... Can they be refreezed and still be okay?

2. My aquacleqr 70 HOB filter is producing a crap ton of microbubbles (for weeks now). I have cleaned it, moved it and nothing has helped. Do I need to replace either the sponge or the bioballs? Or both? If I turn off the filter, the bubbles stop in the tank... When I turn it back on, microbubbles and "material" come out. I regularly swish my sponge when I do my weekly water changes.

As long as they don't smell rotten, they should be good. Most of my frozen food is thawed before it makes it to my freezer from the LFS.

I'm going to base it off the picture but if the water leaving the HOB filter is water-falling down, its going to pull air down, causing those micro bubbles. You'll need to fill you water level up in your aquarium so that its up the point where the water from the HOB filter glides on the water surface vs water-falling and diving down into the water column.

Changing the height of the water doesn't help either. This is a fairly new issue. My tank has been up for a year and a half? I'm stumped..

This looks to be the issue - the best thing to do would be to get an auto top off of some sort that will keep your water height high enough and stable - this means you don’t have to keep adding water due to evaporation

I'll try adding more water again and see.
Also check to see if the little position adjuster knob thingy, lol, is still affixed...
As tankstudy mentioned, you want the water to glide out of the hob, not waterfall down.
The mysid is fine, mine defrosts on the way home every time I buy some.
Do portion it out and vacuum seal, really helps with the freshness and shelf life

If adding water to get rid of the waterfall effect doesn't work, look for cracks in the filter intake pipe or the filter body which could be sucking air in. Also check the filter intake pipe is sitting properly in the impeller housing.
