Not GHA or?...

I went on vacation for 2 weeks, came back and everything is fine except a tuft of this stuff. Doesn't resemble classic GHA or anything else I've encountered. Nutrients are all fine. Easily removed by hand, scrubbed off at the roots with a toothbrush. Any ideas?

There could be a few strands of GHA in there, but it's something else. Did you have any macro algae previously in your tank?

It's not bryopsis or chaeto, so I'm leaning towards some type of macro algae. Did it hitchhike on some live rock?

No live rock. Could have been from the frag plug in the pick. But I picked that up at Reefapalooza NY back in June. Nothing is impossible, I'd just like to know what it is.

Another characteristics is when I pulled removed it, it came off in a complete mat, like you were pulling thick moss from something.
