Not going to acclimate my BTAs

Just going to use this as an experiment/place-holder, so we can judge the viability of these “oh so delicate” creatures if I just dump them in my tank.

Pictures to follow, but the plan is, remove a rock from my RSR Max Nano AIO tank, and place it in my display tank, with the 2x BTAs and a carpet nem that is on it. I will then put a rock or two that has some coral I don’t want in the Nano. I have to give away the nano inhabitants, then I am getting an Octopus.

Either way, stay tuned for Pre/post pictures, and see if these Nems melt before our eyes.....

Sweet I'll be looking to see what the nem does. Although some wont be keen to the stress this puts on the nem I get the study.

I had to quick acclimate a bta due to shipping incident which wasn't just dropping them in but 50% water right away. Its happy to this day

I have a rock with 2 carpets and a rock flower on it I just dropped into our new tank from our old and it was fine. But the new tank had a rock in it from the old tank so not sure if that played a part. But I'm interested to see how the BTA do!

While waiting for before/after pictures, some details.

Removing from AIO tank with no additional filtration etc, and it has sand etc.

Placing in bare bottom running oversized everything, socks, skimmer, Ozone, UV

Both tanks use the same salt, same salinity, and I keep them at about the same temp.

I am expecting just a few days of irritation, then a bounce-back. (assuming they don’t play in the powerheads)

One BTA ate a mini-maxi carpet and almost nuked the tank, but 6 weeks later, they are doing great again..... kinda crazy.

I don’t really want to keep the BTAs so if they start floating, I am bagging and dumping at the LFS anyways (will keep the carpet, it’s cool)

Transferring creatures from one of your own tanks to another one of your own tanks is not a big deal chances are your water chemistry is very close to the same in both tanks I will say you'll have no issue

This is good to know. Does it matter that one tank is quite “dirty” and other never grows algae etc?

if you're going from dirty to clean you'll probably be fine but I would not go from clean to dirty, I have cycled a tank using red bubble tips and establish live rock , they came right out of my big tank and went right into a different tank, but I don't follow rules haha

I never acclimate them, I just dump the BTA's in, they do fine. One I got from a very dirty failing tank and I just tossed it in mine, probably happy to be in a better tank.

I have never found them to be delicate.

I just float and put in. I have can bta, black widow bta, of bounce, Rasta torch, Aussie gold torch, dragon soul torch, joked torch, jawbreaker, elegance, bubble coral, acans, blasto, zoas,acropora and montipora. All just floated and placed in tank. Same with fish
