I'm currently in the process of setting up what will hopefully be my last reef. It's the fourth that I've had and will be my last. I've been into marine reefs more or less continuously since 1993. My newest tank is a 125 reef ready with all the appropriate equipment. It's a downsize from my 200 gallon but is much easier for me to work in when I need too. This time I'm going to keep it simple with LPS and Softies. I'm almost 70 years old and retired and looking to do a simple tank. When I go, so goes the tank.

Welcome to R2R James and thanks for introducing yourself. We look forward to your years of experience and knowledge :)

Welcome to R2R!!! I’m 53 and on my first mixed reef. It’s a 55 gallon and 2.5 years old. I LOVE this hobby. I’m thinking in a few years that I’ll upgrade to a slightly larger tank so I can get some cooler fish. What size do you recommend? My 55 gallon is nice because the maintenance is manageable. I don’t want to go too big because of that.
