This weird ball of "stuff" has been growing in the corner of my display tank. It started out looking like snail eggs (circular pattern on the glass) now it's kinda big and looking like spirobid worms or possibly a sponge? It started about a week ago. I'm not home right now so I can't provide a description of its texture.

Spinoid worms are like mini snails, so I say it's not this, what colour is it, must of been growing for a while

It's white. It started about a week or two ago. It's growing pretty fast. I'll be removing it on Wednesday but I'm curious as to what it is. I seem to get a lot of obscure stuff in my tank. It's almost 8 years old. 300 gallon display, 400 gallons in the system.

You are confusing spionids with spirorbids.

Looks like the sponge that comes and goes in my overflow. It’ll be there a couple weeks then disappear and reappear over night
I was thinking it was a sponge too. I guess we'll see.

Looks like a sponge to me.
