Hello everyone, I'm new to saltwater and I've sort of hit a wall. I'm at the end of cycling my 30 gallon aquarium and I'm still not finished adding all of the live rock that I want. This past Saturday I brought home five more pounds and as I was getting the rock situated, I noticed something protruding from a cave in the rock. I took a flashlight and looked around a little and found that I actually brought home 2 smaller brittle stars, 3 smaller starfish and some bristle worms. It was never my intention to house these guys but now that I have them, I'm intrigued. I'm wanting to keep zoanthids so I guess my question is, is there a problem keeping the travelers I brought home with zoanthids? If not, how or what do I feed the brittle stars?

Thanks for the link. That's exactly what I needed. Turns out, I have macro snails and ministers too.

Sounds like you got some beneficial hitchhikers. :)

Yep, good stuff. No problem keeping those with your zoas.
My tanks are full of stars, crabs, snails, cucumbers, shrimp... all beneficial to the reef tank in some way.

Thanks for the info. I was able to snap a picture of one brittle star before he went back into hiding. It was taken with my phone with max zoom so resolution is not the best
