Not sure what this Anemone like thing is...

Does anyone recognize this or know what it might be. It came with the live rock and has tripled in size over the last month, since I noticed it. It's still small ~1/2 inch wide.

Is that liverock from TBS? I had a couple of those as well and I don't think they are aptasia (which are not native to the gulf) but would still recommend getting rid of it as they do grow fast and propogate. For me, they were very difficult to kill. I used lemon juice injection as well as kalk paste and took multiple attempts to actually kill them. At the time, I thought I was a clean kill but ~ 1-2 weeks later they would reappear in the exact same place.

Doesn't look like Aptasia to me... aptasia is darker and has much thinner tentacles. But I agree with the "get rid of it" advice.

I think it is a curly cue, I had one like that on my LR from TBS but the rock it was on was kinda ugly anyway so i just removed the rock.
