I noticed a couple white speckles on my clown fish and trying to see what it could be. If identified I would please ask for a cure for this aswell

I see an area of discolored scales, but no obvious ich trophonts. We need some additional history- take a look at the link below my name and see what other questions you can answer about the case....
Thanks,
Jay

The tank is a little over 3 months old
20 gallon tank
Mixed, reef/fish
I use two custom caddy with filter floss and de nitrate filter media stones in other compartments of the caddy
2 aqua night v2 led lights

salinity 1.025
Phosphorus 28ppb
Amo is 0
Nitrite .05
Nitrate 2
Alk 137
Calcium 400
Magnesium 1280

no other fish have it.
he eats normal, but I do notice he is swimming fast again like when I first bought him.
tank is in its ending phase of cycling.
Sorry I am new to this I hope this helps

He seams to have it close to the top fin on his left side. Almost like shiny spots, (looks like when you get glue on your skin and it dies kind of shiny)
Overall he looks good just these couple spots. Oh and on his left fin he also has a spot right in the middle of it.

It’s tough to see anything in the photos. One trick is to understand that ich drops off the fish to reproduce. If the same spots are in the same location for more than 36 hours or so, and new spots aren’t showing up, then it probably isn’t ich.
If it does turn out to be ich, you’ll need to treat the fish in another tank so you don’t harm the invertebrates....

Thanks Jay
You are very knowledgeable. Well I can tell you that he has had the same spot on him since I noticed it maybe 3-4 days ago. I google search any other type of disease and it’s hard because the examples are very exaggerated. If I had to choose one. It looks like a very very very low case of velvet. But again I know next to nothing.

See upper dorsal area as I expanded pic. May be start of brook.

After taking a look at this article it looks more like mild brookynella
I’m not sure- it doesn’t look mucusy enough to be Brooklynella, and it isn’t progressing quickly like Brook normally does. However, without a skin scrape to put under a microscope, it is difficult to say either way.
Jay

With unsurity, you can do a freshwater dip and see if anything falls off. Assure water is same temp as display tank. This step is not necessary but precautionery.

Yes it hasn’t spread quickly at all. And doesn’t show anything on the skin except for color difference. And depending on how the light shines on it sometimes it’s very hard to see. On certain angles you can see it more than others.

Yes - the fish does seen agitated, but that isn't a symptom of Brooklynella - in those cases, the fish's fins would be clamped and they definitely look "mopey". The fish was swimming too fast to get a good look at the lesion on its back.

I can't recall, do you have a treatment tank available?

One observation , the black/white clowns are smaller and seem a bit thin, be sure they aren't getting out competed for food or harassed by the larger ones.

The mocha storm clown is a smaller fish in general, I bought them two totally different sizes. And not to mention he lives in front of my power head he is by far the most active fish I have ever seen. Even when he sleeps he’s by the power head. They all eat very well. I only have two clowns and a 6line wrasse. But they eat until they are full.
Update from yesterday, the orange clown has not gotten worse if anything he looks better. Instead of having the discolouration patches like he did he only has those two or three small shiny spots. Yesterday he has the small spots accompanied with like a milky stain.
Did a 10% water change yesterday due to a routine weekly change. And today I seen him looking better.
could it be he got stung by the torches??? I ask because last night (hahah) we got home kind of late and turned the lights on and he went nuts and acted blind he kept swimming into everything, smashing the glass. Poor guy I immidietly turned the lights back on as I knew it has to be because of that. Try sleeping and having the lights turn on I would feel the same way. Anywho in his little panic attack he went face first into the torches and it sent him flying. im not sure just a suggestion.

I do not have a treatment tank as I wish to upgrade tank size in the near future. Then plan to have this one as a quarantine tank.

Yes - it could have gotten stung, or simply have run into something. Since you don't have a treatment tank, and since the fish seems to be improving, I wouldn't do anything right now.

You know what sir,
Upon closer inspection it looks as if the orange clown has something stuck in him. Like a tiny white spiky thing????
