Not sure what this is, some kinda feather duster?

Happened to see a unique thing in my tank I haven't seen yet.

This piece of coral came from a local shop that had it in his tank. It was mostly retracted cause the lights were low, and I happened to see this fan very actively opening and closing. It looks like what I know a feather duster to look like, but I've never seen one 'scooping' like this one is.

The video I realized doesn't show what I wanted it to, but the fan was 'drawing in' and closing completely, then opening, then drawing in again, every couple of seconds.

Am I right to guess its a feather duster?

You would be correct. Feather duster. Harmless filter feeder and a beneficial member of your tank.

The way its moving remind me more of a barnacle than a feather duster but I'm new to this so I'd wait for someone else to chime in.

Thank you! I looked up some videos of barnacles in reef tanks, and that little 'open close' thing where they scoop stuff in is exactly what this is doing. It looks like a barnacle more then a feather duster.

I've had feather dusters before, but they didn't move nearly as much as this is.
