Just noticed a string of something I haven’t seen before anyone seen this before seems to only be on the shell

More will need to comment. If it’s not a start of a vermatid then it’s some sort of tube worm, maybe some sort of feather duster worm.

Ya it seemed to wrap around that shell just to be safe I took it out and threw the shell away

Didn’t think of it they didn’t seem to move at all and to think about it I did have a snail on that shell yesterday.

time to play mad scientist!
Take some photos of it on your table, so we can see many views, try and open it, see if it’s clear.
Take a razor blade, cut a section out, like close at both sides, if you see see holes on both sides, it’s some sort of tube worm.

Look all over your tank. See if there’s more, also, lights go out, watch it, see if you see anything happening.

Put it in a glass of saltwater, maybe add a airstone and just watch it.
