I can't figure out exactly what type of algae this is. Ive tried syphoning but it keeps coming back. Im treating as cyanobacteria with red slime remover but after the first dose i havent noticed any improvement really. The only thing it killed off was the algae on the rocks which wasnt very much to begin with. Could anyone tell me what this is and what i could do to clear it up? Thanks

I'm going through the same right now on my 9 month 85 gal total. I'll be cleaning the sand on one side of the tank and as I'm cleaning it starts coming back right away on the other side I just cleaned. I'm at my breaking point with this stuff. I had cyano in the first few moths of this tank and it went away with a treatment of Chemiclean, but that was purple and the stuff I'm dealing with right now is brown, Chemiclean had no effect on it, so I'm guessing a different strain. As per Twillard's research I will start to dose h2o2 @ 1ml per 10 gal every 12 hours for the next 8 days and see if that helps....crossing my fingers.
