Curious what this behavior might be/is? (Sorry for the crappy quality; only had my cell on me when I saw it.)

Looks like laying eggs to me... least pretending to. Id go grab a flashlight to see better.

females dropping them males fertilising.

Cool beans :D

Thanks for the info; I'd wondered if that was what was going on. Exciting!

I can't see anything specific in the area that's noticeable, but I'll keep an eye on it and see if anything develops. Given that my wife and I are about to have our second child any week now, I doubt that I'll have the time to do anything special in response. The two clowns (and soon a blenny) are the only fish in the tank. There are dozens of snails and two hermit crabs. Not sure if that means that any eggs will actually have a chance to survive or not, but even if not - exciting that the two clowns are now (officially-ish) a mated pair.

Raising clown fish fry is commitment, time consuming. They'll hatch and become a food source for other tank inhabitants.

Congrats on your pending family addition. :-)

It's not egg laying yet my clowns do the same yet they're still too young. It's a mating dance that they do similar to seahorses
