About 3 weeks ago I had a rock collapse, but it was not real bad and I did not stir up much sand fixing it. The next week I had a severe collapse and a large amount of sand was disturbed. Ever since the water has been milky white and it has not improved. The filter socks are getting completely clogged about every 2 to 3 days and they are not brown like they normally would be from fish poop or food. I am changing them when they clog. Is it possible for disturbed sand to produce that much cloudiness for that long? The fish and coral do not seem disturbed so I am leaning towards ruling out a bacteria bloom.

Any chance your wave maker or return pump is pointed at the sand. Maybe it got hit in the collapse?

I am sure the power heads are not pointed at the sand and there is no deflection.
