Came home from late soccer game last night and saw this. Can not pin point exactly what this is any help is great on id and if bad how to get rid of it. To me looks like a form of aiptasia but not sure.

Poriferan sponge. Harmless but can grow crazy wild. If so, trim back or inject with vinegar to stop it from spreading

it's growing mainly on higher silicates and nitr. as well, if you take action against, leave a mesh with GAC on higher water current/flow area, to take off the toxins which it will produce when action taken against it. if your parameters go lower (silicates mainly) it will limit it growing.
Only few sponges SP are calcareous, most are silicates dependent for the grow.
