Sad to say that I lost my first fish today.
I loved my longnose hawk fish, but today when I woke up and went to feed the fishes, I couldn’t find him in the tank. Looked everywhere and nothing.
When I look behind the tank, between the tank and the wall, there he was, on the floor :(
I know he has a tendency to jump, but I never saw this happen.
So sad...
It was my favorite fish in the tank. He perched on the rocks, followed you as you walked around the tank, perched on the walls upside down.
Just wanted to vent.
Thnx
:(

I have one, great fish but never seen mine jump. My yellow wrasse is a different story he jumped again into my overflow. Hopefully he figures out how to get out or he'll be in there forever.

Canopies are your friend!

Yea, a sad day when a fish jumps out of the tank. We have a cover over our tank. On the sides, we have a small notched out area going around the light brackets...about 1". About an hour after feeding our fish, I was looking in the tank to make sure everything was okay. I did not see our radian wrasse swimming around as usual. I was pulling my hair...could not find him. Then...I looked on top of the screen top to discover he was lying there under the lights. I tried CPR...lol and did not work. This guy jump in that one-inch opening was a super sad day.

I added a couple shrimps recently and the next morning found one of them all dried up laying on top of the mesh cover.

Boo.
