nothing from live rock

I bought 25 lb of live rock and live sand and nothing live has come from them...my aquarium Is 3 months old...Is this normal?

live rock/sand that brings nothing else to the tank is often considered the best kind of live rock/sand. the only thing that makes live rock "alive" is the bacteria growing on it and hitchhikers can be good or bad.

I've not seen to many pieces of Live Rock that didnt' contain feather dusters or other critters on it.
Has your tank cycled? What are your parameters looking like now?

Try hunting with a flashlight a few hours after lights out in complete darkness. Even better if you can find a red lens.
