What method is everyone using to attatch new frag plugs to your rocks? I have some water weld putty. I just am sketchy about putting that stuff in my system.

I use the plumbers putty from Lowes. I think it says for potable water on it. You can also use super glue gel if you can get the rocks out.

Dodger,

if you are glueing SPS, what I normally do with them is pope them off the plugs then glue them to the rocks underwater. Superglue gel will cure under water. Put a good glob on the base of the Acro, then quickly put it in the water where you want. wiggle it on the rock to break the skin of the glue and hold it for 30 seconds. then your acro will encrust over that pretty quickly provided it is happy.

Keep in mind you May have to start at the bottom with them and move up to acclimate to your lighting. once you find their happy place, glue them down.

the superglue gel sounds like the way to go I suppose!

I bought a monti cap frag at the swap and it popped of of the frag plug on its own. Im going to try to glue it to a rock as well.

Super glue on its own doesnt usually last long term, especially if there is any weight not being supported completely by the rock. Or if a snail cruises by etc.

I have had excellent success with using the purple 2 little fishies epoxy and super gel combined. You make a sandwich out of them.

I cut the epoxy off the stick and mix it up and form it into a ball then I press down with 2 fingers to make a flat top and bottom. I then add superglue to both flat sides of the ball. one for the frag and one side for the rock. Press down and hold for 60 seconds.
