I have had two clowns for approx 6 months. They don't host in my anemone until I came home from work last night to find one of the clowns in the anemone WITH ONE OF IT'S TENTACLES IN IT'S MOUTH!!!! what the heck... Is this normal? I've never seen this before. He was literally sucking on it! LOL

Picture is a little blury...

Well, they say there is a relationship? How that relationship begins is the mystery? ;) Or until now it was!?:D:p

Well that is odd. I've seen clowns completely ignore anemones for a long period of time before hosting them but I've never seen them suckle on a tentacle.

It's a fairly common occurrence and you might see the clown actually bite the tips off the anemone. Some speculate that it might encourage the development of the coating to the clownfish that makes the fish undetectable as a food source to the anemone, others think it might be nutritional.
Clowns are weird though so who knows.

This is normal IMO. The clown you see in my avatar was the female of a pair of Picassos I had and they would both sit in my Bubble Tip and do this same thing. They where also very large clowns at at least 3.5-4". I found they quit doing it after a few weeks of hosting the nem.

That's awesome but expecting.
Clowns are all new to me but since a year I have a Gold Nugget Pair that teamed up as breeding pair in a inferno and sunburst nem infested 60 gallon cube and it's fascinating I must say.
Yesterday I got a hold of a pair Gold Nugget Bullet Holes as they are called, it's a new designer clown from Proaquatix which will be brought on the market next year they told me.
These will go after the QT in the DT and I have a golden ritteri nem in there for a week and that is completely not me.

Pics diesel!! Let's see those babies

You know that I QT all fish for 3 months
I have no light over the QT but will see if with the reflection of my radions over my frag tank I can take a pic tomorrow.
They are close to a half inch and would have them close to a inch when released in the DT as why i might move them from the 12 weeks of QT and 12 weeks more in a frag tank to get them on size.

Another easy way is forcing them on to it what the heck a clay pot
