I have installed a closed loop on my 300g for UV using 1-1/2” bulkheads. I used a low profile “screen” on the “drain” bulkhead but I’m at a loss as to what to install on the return bulkhead. I want to maintain as high of flow as possible so I don’t want to choke it down with a 3/4” lock line fitting. Does anyone know of some type of nozzle made for a 1-1/2” bulkhead?
What are you closed loop reefers using?

I've also thought of doing a closed loop for UV sterilizer. I've also thought of something like a nozzle but wouldn't the flow coming out of it be too strong? I'd think it would be like a jet (especially if you're running the UV for bacteria and microalgaes). I've thought of using something like this (painted black) and modifying it to fit. https://www.coralvue.com/varios-rodc-intake-strainer
Also, for the drain (suction) side, if it too flat, a larger fish swimming by might get sucked flat against the flat strainer.

I hope it’s not too strong. I’ll be running hopefully about 1800-2000gph through it. A single MP40 can push 4500gph and we don’t worry about that being too much or fish getting stuck to its intake. Don’t know for sure, going to do it and hope for the best as it’s already plumbed in.

The RFG penducters work fine, but you could also just go with plain old pvc in the return bulkhead. Although the RFG nozzles increase overall water movement via Venturi effect, they do reduce net flow though the actual closed loop pipes.
