Np bacto balance issue if stopped?

Is there any issue if one is using np bacto balance for a while and then stops?

somewhere I thought I heard someone say once you start carbon dosing it is bad to just stop

what is the concern?
best to just gradually ween off then?

This answer is not specific to the product.

Mostly that advice is just motivated by the idea to change anything slowly in reefing. Almost always better that way. I know of nothing that's been really harmed by stopping carbon dosing immediately, nor any reason to expect it would be dangerous.
I have seen a few say nutrients rebounded faster than expected.

Sounds good. First time doing carbon dosing and using this product so wasn’t sure if there was something unique to be aware of.

I do not think there’s a problem stopping. Of course, nutrients can be impacted.

I think, the recommendation to let organic carbon dosing slowly run out and not stop it suddenly came from vodka dosing and was based on some bad experiences with suddenly stopping vodka dosing.

I have never experienced negative impacts of stopping OCD myself but, although I intended to try it, I never dosed vodka. The bottle is still in the cupboard, unopened, for many years now. Maybe it is a specific addictive effect of C2H6O.

Nevertheless the recommendation is good, change anything slowly!

I stop carbon dosing for vacations of up to 10 days and only thing that happens is nitrates jump and if I dose full strength when I get home is a bacteria bloom the white stringy looking stuff lol
