This goes out to those who have done an NSA aquascape. And have had their reef grow some.

There are spectacular examples of NSA here and I’m probably going to do one, but I’ll have a mixed tank, lps, spa, softies and fish.

It seems after time as the corals grow out all the outstanding work will just get covered, and the effort will get hidden?

i think you will still end up with someone more unique than a wall of rock and there will be plenty of cave work for the fish, also this is my hope as i plan to do this on my new build as well!

Corals get heavy - I would not trust some of these NSA aquascape I am seeing online - too much failure points for my liking. I am trying to figure out how to make this a NSA hybrid.

Too get back to your original questions, I would still go with a NSA vs NO since a good overhang will look good in a new or overgrown reef. NSA lifts the rock of the bottom so this is always a good think even when you hardwork is covered.
