Did business with this website over the holidays..

Tank I purchased looked like it had been in the back of a farm truck for a month, had liquid spilled all over it, and smelled to high heaven like a chemical was mixed in it.

I sent pics and multiple emails and they sent me one email back, saying they didn't sell used tanks or damaged tanks.

After they wouldn't respond I sent them a picture of shrink wrap and a box along with a logistics consulting invoice.

It was for the amount I spent on the tank.....

Didn't even get a kiss........

Anyways, BUYER BEWARE... ntotank.com no bueno

Hm never heard of them...

I try and get my tanks locally or even from the dreaded chain stores that way I can always bring it back...

Do you know if they manufacture the tank or are they just the vendor? Try contacting the manufacturer
 
They are a vendor and to be specific this is a holding tank to be used as my RO-Di top off container. They are located in Texas as well. Hour or so of magic eraser and a few fill ups of vinegar and water solution and I hope it will work for me. Otherwise I will dispute the charge, that will paint their wagon at least a shade darker red .

These guys aren't a vendor on R2R. I really don't think the post belongs here... You need a Buyer Beware Forum. just my.02.
 
I've used them exclusively for all my water storage tank needs (I've purchased eight now) without issue. I'm curious, who did you speak to at NTO about the issue. I always work with Robert and he is fantastic. I have set up multiple group buys through my local reef club for almost 100 water storage tanks over the last few years through NTO as well without issue, always a great deal for all. You can pay a few bucks to have the tanks wrapped if you don't want them scuffed as they of course will be shipped LTL freight and will be tossed about in the back of a truck.

the chemical smell and liquid you mention is unfortunate and hopefully the lid was sealed tight and can be taken care of with a simple rinse. likely the result of LTL freight shipment and the carrier perhaps not so much NTO. a real thorough check of one's goods when taking inventory and receipt upon delivery before signing off is best as that is the time that you can send back for most leverage if unhappy with the product.

hope a better response is had by a phone call and perhaps by speaking to Robert @ NTO per my suggestion. g'luck sir!
 
Not going to mention names... this was dropped of by ups at my warehouse.. unfortunately I was not here when the drop off happened. I have purchased many tanks as well. These were not scuff marks, they were gouges and used rotella oil,trust me, I know the difference, it looks like it was returned used and sold to me as new... a case of shrinkwrap costs $50 and would wrap 1000's of tanks. Poor customer service and zero follow-up. All I am stating... glad your experience was good... I wanted to pick it out from a local supplier but I live in the middle of nowhere and only needed a 25 gal, no one keeps these on hand... also the chemical smell was coming from inside the tank, and the drain was damaged as well, so basically I have 3x the amount of cost of the tank in labor and new bulkhead. Not a good deal... Hence the buyer beware... so for anyone looking to use these guys you definitely want to call and ask for robert instead of dealing with their online team.
