Has anyone started or know if a aquarium nudibranch database/catalog? Something like,

-appearance
-where it’s from
-what it eats
-reef safe or not safe
-how to exterminate

This is probably the most informative site I’ve seen. Lots of pics. But not so much about their diet. Not much is known about most species as far as what they eat. In this hobby, we see quite a few types and we know what they eat.
-montipora eating nudis
-Zoa eating nudis
-elysia sp (caulerpa sea slug)
-berghia (aiptasia eating nudis)

I’ve seen soft coral earring ones in the past. Dark brown
I love nudibranchs and have kept a couple species that are thought to eat sponges. I’ve watched lots of documentaries about them as well. They’re really bizarre looking creatures and I wish more was known about them. I can get a couple species at my LFS but they never live more than a month or two - their typical lifespan.

They are interesting and can be very beautiful creatures, but can produce a knee jerk reaction of fear when spotted and not recognized. My mind has jumped to fear several times in the past when I saw something crawling I did not recognize.

These are from an old tank. Loved those things

Seconded that the best info I ever find on nudibranch species diets and habits is seaslug forum site.

My genuine goal was to possibly inspire someone much more organized then me to start something as stated in my original post. Unfortunately most of us will quite 10 or less in on the sea slug site; be overwhelmed and go back to fear. Hopefully this can plant a seed for someone

The sad truth is, there are so many types of nudibranchs out there, so picking and choosing would be almost useless. Although there are the common ones in the hobby, we aren’t limited as to what we can find. Making a list of fish or corals would also be a daunting task. Making a list of acropora or tangs for example, would be an extensive list.

I believe most are well aware of the challenges, but that should not mean someone should not try or get something started that could be added to by the community. I am trying to champion someone. Great time filler if someone finds themselves without much to do.
