Nudibranches vs. aptasia

I got 3 nudibranches for my 44 gallon tank 1 week ago. I was keeping aptasia at bay with FAptasia, but have been “letting it go” for the nudis to take over. Of course, I haven’t seen the nudis since I put them in nor do I notice any missing aptasia.

Do I give them a little time to hopefully do their magic, or keep hitting the aptasia I see?

You might never see Berghai. They stay out of sight usually until they are starved for food and then they can wander around a bit. They also could have been eaten or killed and you might never know. You just kinda have to take it on faith. When they do work, you cannot really tell for a while and then all of a sudden, they multiply and the aiptasia start to quickly disappear.

They take time. They will work. You won’t find them ever once you put them in. As long as you don’t have anything that will eat them, like peppermint shrimps, you’re good to go.

Once they take off, you’ll notice. It takes about a month or a little more once they lay eggs. Even the microscopic ones can tear into aiptasia.

Source: I used to breed them. The hard part about breeding them is having enough aiptasia. You basically have to farm aiptasia

I expect there will be more than enough anemones to go around.

i used Berghia once. I did not see them for a few weeks—then one popped up.
