Was wondering if anyone knew if the pictures I posted are the start of coraline algae or nuisance algae. The tank has been cycled for about 3 months. With LS and LR. Had a diatom bloom that went away about a month ago and now my rock is turning green with some purplish pink spots. I tried wiping it off but it doesn’t come off. It seems hard. Water parameters are. (Ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 5ppm, phosphate 0. Salinity 1.025. Temp 76.5.

No pics. Sorry.
But yea, your probaly right.

I will have to agree with @lapin in your previous post. The green appears to be GHA (green hair algae) grab a tooth brush and keep up with water changes using RO/DI water for top off water and mixing fresh salt water.

It's all just part of the new tank uglies.

Here’s the pictures

Yup. Looks like the precursor to corraline.

I’ve tried the tooth brush. Unfortunately it doesn’t come off. It’s hard

Same picture. I’ll post a new one

Obviously it looks 100% better under the blues you can’t really notice it. But with just white on it’s pretty green. I don’t notice and “hair like” growth anywhere. I do have a few pineapple sponges growing on the live rock at the moment
