Hello,

Looking for best way to further lower nitrates. If the consensus that this is even necessary. This is 13 gal LPS, 8 months old. My nitrates were up to around 30 at month 6, but have since dropped to 20. I get it a little lower with the weekly WC, but comes back up to 20. I will say everything is growing nicely and look great. Should I be targeting something lower like 10? I know LPS like water little dirty and I want to push growth. If indeed I should target 10, what method of export would be best? I'm thinking a nano skimmer, but are they really practical? Is there a better way? Current export is weekly WC, and have simple HOB with typical filter cartridge with small amount of GAC in it. If 20ppm nitrate is good, then I like the conservative approach and won't touch it. Am also curious about phosphate, and will revisit this topic-getting a hanna ulr phos first. Just curious! Thanks!
Current params:
1.025
79 degrees
Nitrate 20
Phosphate 0.1
Cal 400
Mg 1300
Alk 8.5
Ph 8.1

Thanks, that's what I like to hear. Don't wanna chase numbers, but I know 50 probably not good. Trying to let it do its thing

You should be OK at those nutrient levels. Might grow a bit of GHA, but better than too little nutrient (speaking from experience).

Have to say that I am a fan of carbon dosing (vinegar) once things get away from you (GHA) but only SO S-L-O-W-L-Y. At thirteen gallons we are talking drops of the stuff.

Until then, relax and enjoy.
