Hi,
What comprises the nutrient level in a reef tank? And how do you check for it? I think corals need a small amount to grow?
Thanks,
Larry

There are many chemicals that might be considered nutrients, but two that reefers test most for are nitrate and phosphate. You want some but not too much. Others include ammonia, iron, organics, and a variety of trace metals.
