For months my nutrient levels have been caddywhompus (it a technical term), as my po4 has always been higher than my no3. As the chart shows, it looks as if things are starting to balance out. Trying to maintain these current levels will be the name of the game.
Question: I have always used the RS Pro N03 kit, but I find often that I get a shade of pink that doesn't quite match anything on the color wheel and I'm forced to make a guess as to which color it more closely resembles to get a reading. Is there another kit on the market that doesn't force its user to distinguish between slight color shade differences? I really wish Hanna would come out with a N03 checker and I can do away with the game of Which Color Does Your Test Look Most Like, But Not Quite...

Great question. It looks like Hannah has one for $220.

I went to their website, and looked at what you're referring to. Its the HI96786 for $220. I read all the way to the bottom, and their was one question asked: Will this unit work with salt water? A: No, the high salt content would interfere with the nitrate chemistry.
So, yes they do make a no3 tester, but not for saltwater. Not that I would buy one at that price if they did. Reagent is sold separately. 100 tests @ $65.00 or 300 test @ $185.00 Ouch! The least expensive single test you could do with this unit is $1.35 a test (includes the cost of the unit). Wow.

My bad. If it was for salt water I would be interested. Thanks for checking it out.
