So, I had a Phosphate spike last week. Crept up to 1.3ppm.

I quickly put in some fresh GFO and it’s back to normal low levels.

I bought a frag of beach bum from my LFS months ago and it’s never really thrives in my tank. Going mostly brown. Suddenly working a week it’s white and blue.

Strange thing is, this isn’t the first time. Similar thing happened with a kung pow frag last year when my GFO tractor came unplugged by accident. Levels crept up to 2.5ppm and it came alive. Some other corals lost colour yes, but came back.

has anyone experienced this? Maybe worth a try, if you have an old frag dying, dip it in some water rich in nutrients?

Like i said, its happened twice.

I figure, when coral expels all its bacteria, whats the risk? They usually die anyway.
