Nutrient source in a low fish load softy tank

These ricordia (?) love to eat too.

I definitely want to keep some ricordeas. Probably will get a few interesting rhodactis and discosoma to start with, but will be looking to keep more ricordeas. From what I understand they are less likely to become a plague than the rhodactis and discos. Hopefully I can contain the "plague shrooms" to a low flow corner of the tank.

You could also do some neat inverts that you feed and that would help raise nutrients

Yeah I am sure I will pick up a few critters that will be part clean up crew/part interesting to watch. I have my eye on strawberry conch, just not sure if one would be OK in a 30 gallon, with feeding of course.

What are those palys above and to the right of the grandis? I will try to keep some brightly colored zoas, but I like more subtle ones like that, as well as the grandis.

What coral is this?

Hello, can any of you tell me what coral this is? It was a hitchhiker on a frag that I recently bought. Apologies on the low quality photo, my tank is finishing up recovery from a bacteria bloom and is still slightly cloudy. Thanks in advance

I also would have called them button polyps, as you mentioned in that thread. I am sure I will come across some sooner or later at an LFS, and probably not for much: one man's trash is another's treasure and all.

Good to know they can grow fast but can be contained by isolating.
