Why do people who grow chaeto and people who grow caulerpa chose their respective macroalgae..? does each believe their choice has a better nutrient uptake or are there other factors being considered.

One usually outgrows whatever you add, and that's what you grow

Caulerpa will costume some calcium and cheato is better at taking up PO4.

I grow both, though chaeto grows more quickly. Keeps numbers really stable.
