Hey guys :D

I have a nuvo 10 the stocking list is as follows

1 Purple FireFish
2 Ricordia Mushroom
1 Candy Cane
1 Hammer
2 Zoa
1 Palythoa

I feed a quarter cube of frozen mysis every other day, and dose brightwell coral amino 6-8 drops everyday. Despite all this my nitrates test to 3, and my phosphates test to .01. I am using a nyos test kit for nitrates, and a hannah for phosphates. I will sometimes get a .02 for phosphates, but these low levels have continued for weeks. The tank has been running for 4 months. Do you guys think it would be a good idea to dose reef roids when I feel my firefish every other day to raise phosphates? I really do not want to run in to a low nutrient problem. I have no skimmer, fuge, or any chemical filtration. I only use 1 filter floss pad, and a large quantity of Seachem Matrix Bio Media. Tank stats as of today are as follows.

Phosphate .01
Salinity 1.026
Alkalinity 10.3
Nitrates 3
Temp 79

Thank you very much for all of your help. Everyone on here has helped me so much with my salt water journey.

Merry Christmas :D

How old is your tank? I'd bet its still very young and settling in. I'd wager your nitrates will rise as the tank ages. You can feed more if you like, I think the tank would respond better if you just space out your WC's a bit more. Don't read too much into things on the internet, we are good at making people panic.

This is my 2nd try with saltwater, and I'm trying to do things as correctly as possible. So far it's been going amazing. Just want to stay on top of everything.

Zero is bad. Low is fine. My mixed reef Nuvo 10 ran at about the same parameters and everything did great. My alk was lower at about 8.5, but my NO3 always stayed between 3 and 5ppm. PO4 hovered around .02. As long as your levels are consistent and everything is going well, don‘t chase numbers....

Gotcha. Its mainly the question of how many times a week can I feed the corals with reef roids without messing stuff up. Also what type of pumps did you use for flow in the nuvo 10?

Don’t go too crazy with Reef Roids. One small weekly feeding with good lighting is more than enough.

I ran a small IM Aquagadget pump pulsing on a low setting along with a Spinstream on my pump output. This combo generated plenty of flow...
