Hey guys :D

So I have a nuvo 10. It is currently stocked with.

2 ricordia mushroom
1 candy cane
2 zoas
1 neon green hammer
1 purple firefish

The candy cane, and mushrooms do not seem to be to happy. They are alive, and become somewhat plump during the photo period.however they are not fat, and happy like at the store. My tank stats are.

Alk 10
Phosphate .02
Nitrate 3
Salinity 1.026
Temp 79

The tank is fed a quarter cube over mysis shrimp every other day. I also dose 8 drops of bright well coral amino daily. The tank has been up for 3 months. I use a kessil a80. It is on full blue 100% intensity for 10 hours per day. I use instant ocean salt, and do a 20% weekly water change. What can I do to make my corals more happy? It seems to me that phosphates, and nitrates are very low. Any advice would be amazing.

Thanks n.n

Phosphates are 'good' and nitrates are on the low side, but nothing to worry about. Consistency is key, and not looking for the 'perfect' numbers.

I agree with the comment above, you may want to lower your light intensity and period. Suggestion: 8-12 hours at a lower intensity -- depending on light and coral placement.

Store water and light parameters may be much different than what you have and corals will look different. Hard to make any judgements without pictures. Looking at tank stats, I would recommend lowering salinity to 1.026 or 1.025 and significantly cutting back lighting time length and intensity. There are some good schedules on R2R that you might consider.

you should probably bring that down to the 1.025 - 1.026 range, and make sure your refractometer is properly calibrated.

The store water was 8 alk and .44 phosphate x,x
Everything else matches.

Stability and patience needed here. Your tank is only three months old, and sometimes corals won’t fully ”thrive” in a newer tank. Did you start with dry rock?
