Good morning,

I have a Nuvo 20 with two Syncra Silent .5's powering the return. This totals 370 GPH. I had spin streams but they are simply too loud and seem to cut flow to almost nothing.

With this setup (without spin streams) is it recommended that I have an additional powerhead?

I understand GPH is not an end all measurement, are there any signs or indications that let you know flow is adequate?

Tank is finished cycling now, getting clownfish Saturday to go into the QT.

I'd like to eventually be able to run SPS, but definitely not going to start there.

Thanks!

I use a sicce 1.5 on my nuvo 20 with spin streams. And also use a mp10 set about 40% and have a mixed reef. Id say youd need a nother powerhead on at leas one side

Did your spin streams quiet down? Were they ever loud? Mine are obnoxious!

My spinstreams got quiet after a week. I think some biofilm made need to build up.
I just purchased a tiny WaveMaker. Cheapo Jebao OW-10. This should suffice until a year or two from now when it stops working. I think the spin streams cut flow so much that even if they were quiet I wouldn't want them! Oh well. Ive already purchased so many things I'm not using and I don't even have fish yet !

I used a Sicce 1.5 for the return and ran a Current USA loop system for lights and flow. 3 x 660gph powerheads.
