Nuvo 25 lagoon heater. Apparently it doesnt exist.

so the rear chamber in the nuvo 25 is 8 inches in height. This means thats almost every single heater is to long, snd you hsve to overflow yhf rear compartments to actually submerge the heater. This makes your filtration horrible. The only heater i can find at 100 watts that is small enough is the finex titaniums with the external controller. The reviews for them are horrifying. The cobalt neotherm 100 watt comes in at 9.25. The reviews are horrifying. It seems the only option is to hook two 50 watt jagers together to my ranco. Why can someone not make a simple short titanium heating element. The brs 100 watt titanium is 10 inches. This is just ridiculous. What would you guys do? I cant stand this.

The Neotherm 75 watt would likely be plenty at only 6.5 inches. By the time you take out the water volume displaced by rock, sand (if using), plus other inhabitants.

However the 100 watt may not need the entire device submerged either. The Neotherm manual says to be sure that the minimum water level is maintained. Just need to see what depth the minimum water level is for that particular model.

The problem is the massive amount of threads saying all the neotherms explode. Not fail in the on position, but fail in a catastrophic manner.

Petco preset heater with no adjustable thermostat. I run one of the 100 watt ones on an inkbird. They are *super* compact. Pretty inexpensive, your local Petco might have them in stock, there is no record I could find online about them exploding, and my temperature stays within about a degree of where I set it. When I first added it, I let it come up to temp before adding the inkbird and it was 78.2 measured with a a lab grade thermometer and a NIST calibrated digital. Mine has been working perfectly for over 4 months now.

Yea i seriously considered one of these. Just hook it up to the ranco. I used one in a 3 gallon before, and it worked perfectly.

I have a Jager heater in my IM25. I think a 75w. It's not overfull...the water is exactly at the minimum line on the heater. I don't like to fully submerge heaters anyways since the gasket is a fail point.

It is. The chamber going to the return section is only 8 inches in height. I am using a 75 watt jager in mine right now.

Mine been sitting this way for a year and a half now without issue. The water is right at the min line...maybe a millimeter below.

BOTH cobalt heaters I had failed.
