So i just recently got a nuvo 25 lagoon and my next step is to get lighting but I can't decide if I should go with an ai prime hd or hydra 26. I'll be starting off with a Clown fish and slowly getting softies and lps as I learn more along the way. Thanks in advance.

Will work fine, if you plan to upgrade or keep some higher light species go with the 26hd. That is what I had on my 25 lagoon and it worked amazing. You can always turn down the hydra 26 hd and then you have options down the road!

I would go prime HD now and if you want more light, add another later. This will give you the ability to spread the light out any way you please.
Softies do not need a ton of light. 1 Prime will certainly be able to grow pretty much any softy coral.
