I have what I may think be one of the best setups diameter wise for a smaller reef tank. Measuring at 36 X 15 X 13.
What I have set up (forewarned I’m sure I’ll get some back lash.
EHEIM canister filter

Marcos Rocks (25 pounds)
Marcos Bahama sand (35 pounds)

Hydra Power head

Coming tomorrow-two AI Prime HD Leds, reason for two was because the Hydra 52 didn’t give out enough light to hit all edges of my tank, also with my rock set up I’d like at least one full light focusing on each rock.

Using ReefDoc for salt mixture and dosing with tank start up.

I haven’t done a full sps tank and would love to start one up. I’m hoping zoas on the bottom and sps on the top to start branching out.

I’d love to hear some feedback.

Welcome to R2R!

I like the two structure rockwork. I would prefer their heights to be a little further apart (make one of them about 2/3 the height of the other). Just my opinion

Thank you! I was thinking the same but I couldn’t figure out where the unbalance should be in the tank?

Probably a larger structure taller.

So the tank finally cleared up and is looking a lot better I’m deciding on sticking with the rocks as they are now. I always enjoy feed back and tips with starting a new reef tank including critters, thinking of a few trophy fish instead of a large group. Any suggestions on dwarf angels for a reef tank?

I had a coral beauty dwarf angel in a 29 gallon Biocube and had no issues with it in my reef. I ended up upgrading to a 65 gallon so I’m not sure how they will do in the long term.

I plan on upgrading long term with my tank, what was the tank mates you had with him?

I’m no help on dwarf angels but I love the rock work exactly how it is, looks perfect to me.

Thank you! I’m starting to warm up to it quite a bit now. With out going mainstream with the classic clowns, and cardinals, wrasses, and gobies, it narrows my options quite a bit.

Update; added some clean up crew and a few corals to start out with. A few mushrooms, green star polyps, and zoas, my favorite out of them is the sunny D zoas, can’t wait to see the out come. I ended up getting the aqua maxx Prism for lighting, it’s honestly an very interesting slick light, the customization for this light truly is incredible and the out put is awesome.
Has anyone else put this light on their tank?
