Thank you. I like them a lot. Once broken in they quiet down. Mine have worked flawlessly. Most reviews mention they get stuck and need to be cleaned often. I scrub them with a brush every couple weeks to clear any build up around the edges.

Yes still running the stock pump and I have an MP10 on the tank as well for extra flow. The stock pump is pretty quiet and hasn't given me any trouble. I know of IM's first run of these tanks the original pumps they used had issues. Eventually I may swap it out for a Sicce or a Reef Octopus Varios 2 but for now its doing the trick.

I just order the spin stream for my Nuvo 40 are you running a skimmer and if so what kind? Also I will say the evaporation on this tank is unreal my ATO works overtime daily I lose about a gallon a day

I have a Aquamaxx HOB-1 that I used for a bit that fits between the Radion RMS mounts. I no longer use a skimmer. I do 5 gal water changes weekly instead of skimming and dosing. I use the Auto Aqua Smart ATO system for mine. I go through about 1/2 gallon a day. Tank temp is 78 degrees constantly. As for the room temp it varies between 70-78 degrees since it is average of 35 degrees or less outside and I have a wood stove going in the same room almost 24/7 so the air is pretty dry.

A few things have changed but overall tank is doing well. Slight Cyano outbreak which is now under control and almost completely gone. Hollywood stunner was replaced with a couple purple cap pieces which are recovering from falling into a some chalices in another tank. Recently added a BTA and clowns jumped right in on the first day. Dracula goby and McCosker Wrasse both somehow jumped threw the slots on the outer edges of the screen within a couple days of each other . Added some Acans, Rainbow Stylo and Pavona. Some of the corals will be moving to other tanks and going to friends eventually. This will allow room for new gowth of the corals I plan to keep.

I run the MP10 around 40-50% lagoon and occasionally on long pulse

Beautiful tank! I'm sorry to hear about the fish. Question about your Smart ATO. I have a Nuvo 20 with the same ATO and I'm having trouble getting the ATO to keep the same water level in the middle back chamber. I too have quite a bit of evaporation as my apartment is dry, but I can't seem to place the optical sensor in a spot that'll keep the middle chamber in the back at a constant level.

So, where do you keep your optical sensor?

Thanks for the kind words. As for the ATO my sensor is in the middle chamber with the top off hose in the left chamber between the overflow and return chamber. I've got it dialed in so the slightest amount of water or coral removed from the tank and the top off kicks in. I test by removing a cup of water and let the top off flow back into the Top off container. As soon as I add the SW cup back to the tank the ATO shuts off and stops. Let me know if you have any questions. I have several sets of both types of the AutoAqua ATO systems and I've figured out most of the little issues. On the micro I don't run the air gap adapter. Just be sure the ATO container is lower than the tank and make sure the ATO hose is not sumbmerged in the rear sump of the tank. Otherwise you'll create a siphon. Best of luck.

Thank you very much for the detailed response! I'm going to try something similar and hopefully the ATO will be working better. Is there a particular reason you don't run the air gap adapter?

I found it wasn't really needed based off my experience with the Larger Smart Auto Aqua version which doesn't come with one. I'm sure it may help in some situations but isn't necessary. Mainly I think they include it for people who have their ATO reservoir level or side by side with the tank. Since you'd be more likely to create a siphon this way since gravity isn't involved to return the unused water to the reservoir creating a natural air gap. With a tank/reservoir side by side water would most likely remain in the line. Not to mention the people who submerge the ATO line into the sump water which definitely will create a siphon. I guess for some it is for security purposes. The design engineers most likely included it based on test results. I found it isn't needed if you understand how a siphon works.

I put in the air gap adapter without really thinking through how a siphon works, but so far I have not had any issues with it - other than getting the whole ATO to work as it should. Oh wow, NICE TANK! I too have a 40g Nuvo, now Ill be looking into the spin streams for my tank. Trying to get the levels all adjusted this weekend and hope to add more stuff soon.

Spin streams are nice and totally worth it. They usually are pretty loud until broken in. Roughly a week or two.

Good to know! Do they stick out and shadow things below them much? Also, Ive been having problems with my TUNZE skimmer, doesnt seem to pull as much as I would expect it to. Any luck with the 9004?

Not really. I push the clear return piece as far back is as I can so the spin streams are flush with the back of the tank.
