Could anyone with a NYOS 120 tell me the dimensions of the bubble chamber. I was hoping to fit a Skimz macro-algae reactor and a NYOS 120 in a reefer 170 sump. As your can see from these pictures, the paper (representing skimmer) will not lie flat. Since the skimmer isn't actually 6×8.25 inches square, there is a chance it might actually fit.

If it doesn't work, there are plenty of plan B's. I liked this combo because reactor seems 'good enough' and the NYOS is the quietest skimmer from reviews. The tank is in a bedroom, so noise is a crucial factor.

Thanks!!

At it's widest (Venturi to Output) its a tad less than 8 1/2. Screen grab from Marine Depot after measuring my own.

Thanks for replying! The dotted line are the listed dimensions and as you can see, it won't fit the 170 Sump. However, I know the skimmer isn't exactly a rectangle. The length is ~8.5 inches and if widest 6" part is < 4.5 inches of the length, it could fit... I'm guessing the max width is the actual bubble chamber. @GoVols it might work, but I might start looking for the 2nd quietest skimmer

You could use one of the AquaMaxx reactors for your algae reactor and hang it from the stand like a lot of us have done. MarineDepot did a video on converting one of the reactors into a cheato reactor. If you did this the skimmer would fit!

Thanks pelphrey! I'm currently leaning that direction. I was just searching R2R for the best DIY lights, doesn't seem like their is a clear winner. I was nervous bolting it to stand, but apparently that's commonly done.

I am using the Aquamaxx XS reactor (Smaller footprint) on my reefer 250 with the Nyos 120 skimmer and Santa Monica RAIN2 turf scrubber -
