I am planning out my upgrade build from my 40 breeder to my 150g peninsula and am met with another dilemma. The tank will be SPS dominant. I ran a cheap SCA skimmer on my 40 breeder, and it works pretty well (albeit with periods of inconsistency and mass micro bubble explosions).

I'm trying to narrow down a skimmer for this tank. It will be pretty heavily stocked. Do you think the Nyos 160 would be a good fit for this tank? Is it worth the money? Alternatively, I was considering a Deltec SC1455, but it seems like the Nyos has a lot more positive experiences over long periods. I really like the small footprint of both, as my sump space is going to have ~30 gallon refugium.

Thoughts?

I run this skimmer on my 150 tall sps dominated tank. Works like a champ.

If you're bio load is heavy, go with the 220, if mostly it's SPS and medium bio load, enjoy immaculate water with either 160 or 220!!!!
