I think this is the one I'll be putting on my next build! Been going back and forth between this and a Tunze, but I really love the design of these! Thanks for the review Marc!

Great video Mark. I love how much room you have in your sump to work.
When I designed my sump and stand I did so according to a specific skimmer that I had the lfs order. They ordered me the wrong one, but it was a better one and I got it for the same price.
Needless to say it is a tight fit in my sump and I am not looing forward to cleaning the whole skimmer. It has to be assembled/disassembled in the sump otherwise I can't get it out/in.

I have the Nyos 160 and love it. Quiet and gets the poop out

I know exactly what you mean. That is why I make my sumps 16" tall so you have room to work and remove the skimmer as well as any other gear. But if the stand is too short, even that can be tricky.

Hello @melev ! Thanks for doing this video... I am trying to decide between the nyos 300 and the deltec 2560 for my 460 ( total volume ) build. I have heard the skimmer cup has gotten stuck on a few people’s nyos skimmers forcing them to break it to get it off... how do you find removing it for cleaning? Also this video is a year and a bit old now... do you still like it?

I still love my Nyos. I've not had to ever break off a cup from the body. Once my Nyos 120 cup was stuck, and I found that by screwing it slightly (as if I was going to tighten it), it came right off. I guess on one model, if you unscrew it too far it may get locked in place. That happened once to me and I've been running that skimmer for the past 20 months. The Model 300 has been running for 2.5 years on my 400g, and does a great job pulling out thick sludge silently.
